Sugar interview

Hanson get called girls, they're into the sort of music your mum and dad probably like, and they say "cool!" a lot. Sugar catches up with Isaac, Taylor and Zac, the Crown Princes of Pop...............

these boys know what they want......

Isaac: Someone wanted us to pose for a photo session with stuffed animals. We just took one look and said, "Uh, nope." That's not going to happen.

Taylor: If people ask us to do poses we don't want to do, we just try to come up with an alternative. (Puts on a stupid voice) "No leopard skin outfits today, thank you very much!"

but they're human too.........

Isaac: We do get embarrased! Like when we first started out we used to play during assembilies in various schools. One time I had this new strap on my guitar, and it snapped off- my guitar dropped straight onto the floor.

Zac: Yeah, and everyone noticed it! It went BLAMM!

........and they can be shy

Taylor: We did the Jenny McCarthy Show in America and at the end of the show she ran onto the set and just tackled Zac.....

Isaac: But Zac wouldn't let her kiss him!

they haven't been spoilt by riches....

Taylor: We still all share a room. It's cool, but pretty small. Our Lego table takes up most of the space.

they love their kid sisters.....

Taylor: We've got two sisters Jessica, eight, and Avery, six, and a little brother, Mackenzie, who's three.

Isaac: We said to Jessica, "We need a bass player. Do you want to play bass?" And she said, "Naah." She's into dancing.

Taylor: If Avery was in the band she'd completely take over.

Isaac: They all think that what we do is cool. We often take them with us on tour.

hanson are trè s hard working....

Isaac: We have to take our math books along on tour with us, and we still have to study. When we appear on shows like Top of the Pops we have to do our school lessons in the dressing rooms between rehearsals.

but they can be naughty.......

Taylor: If we've got a day off, like no school and no music, we go rollerblading......

Isaac: Or hang out at the mall........

Zac: And sometimes we rollerblade in the mall!

Taylor: Yeah, last time we were at the mall we got kicked out by the security guards!

and they've been known to shock!

Zac: We're the long haired guys that look like girls!

Taylor: Yeah, we seem to get the "girls" comment pretty frequently.

Isaac: I guess people just take a look at the back of our heads and make an assumption.

Zac: But then we turn round to face them and they go, "YEEAAARRGH!"

Taylor: Yeah, they go (putting on a dumb accent), "That's just the ugliest woman I've ever seen!"

they're really talented......

Isaac: We listen to great music all the time, like No Doubt and Alanis Morissette.

Taylor: We love old 60's stuff too, like The Beetles, Chuck Berry and Aretha Franklin....

Zac: And our stuff!

and soooooo sweet!

Driving through the gates to the Top of the Pops studio, the boys are genuinely happy to see the waiting (and screaming) fans. All three wave enthusiastically back. "Smile!" yells Zac, as he points his camera at the fans and snaps away. Yep, Hanson are definitely awwwwwwright!
